About the event
On September 19th, the Gender Health Center’s Black Utopians Program will lead a contingent of community members, GHC staff, and supporters in the American Heart Association’s Heart & Stroke Walk.
For the communities we serve every day, heart health is deeply connected to the conditions in which we live. Chronic stress, including the ongoing impacts of racism, discrimination, economic inequity, and barriers to affirming care can take a real toll on our bodies over time. Our participation is one way we can bring continued attention to heart disease prevention, community wellness, and the importance of caring for ourselves and one another.
