UC Davis Medical Student Run Clinic
The Gender Health Center runs a free/donation based Gender Affirming Hormone Prescription Clinic in collaboration with the UC Davis School of Medicine and UC Davis Family Practice. The student-run clinic is staffed by 1st & 2nd year medical students under the supervision of licensed family practitioners.
GHC is not a medical facility and we do not provide any primary care services.
HORMONE PRESCRIPTION CLINIC
The hormone clinic offers medication and services to community members who might not have access otherwise. We ensure that no one is turned away due to income and insurance, and we prescribe hormones based on individual needs, following the latest WPATH Standards of Care and an informed consent approach. Our interdisciplinary team is dedicated to addressing each patient’s unique health needs. This includes helping with health coverage, finding a primary care provider, and achieving other medical transition goals. Patients can start seeking care with us at age 16, provided they have parental or guardian consent.
Because our clinic operates only twice a month and is supported by donations, new patients may experience a wait time of 2-3 months before their first appointment. We understand this may be challenging, and we appreciate your patience. Our Community Support Services Managers and Specialists are here to assist you in connecting with primary care providers and finding the support you need in the meantime.
Please contact our Director of Healthcare Services, Alej (alej@ghcmail.org) if you have any questions or concerns related to the Gender Affirming Hormone Clinic.
