One year ago, the Gender Health Center launched Haus of Hormones presents ConneQT with QTs, a program born from collaboration between GHC’s Healthcare and Community Support Services teams, alongside our medical-legal partnership with Legal Services of Northern California and the clinical care provided by UC Davis School of Medicine students and physicians.

From the very beginning, this space was built with one purpose: to create a home where 2-Spirit, trans, gender-diverse, and intersex community members (and our fierce loves) could gather, connect, access vital resources, and receive affirming, life-giving care. Over the past year, Haus of Hormones – ConneQT with QTs has grown into exactly that: a vibrant, living community hub. And it could not have been done without our Director of Healthcare Services, Alej (they/them/elle), Community Support Services Manager, Astrella (they/them/elle), Operations staff, Destiny (they/them), and the whole mobile harm redux team!
Here’s what happens when our community gathers:
🌈 Connection & resource sharing where peers find kinship, support, and embrace collective & ancestral wisdom.
🧡 HIV/STI testing where we remove barriers to essential healthcare through affirming, community-based services.
⚖️ Legal advocacy where folks are supported through legal name and gender marker changes and navigating access to gender-affirming care.
🛋️ The GHC Living Room – a place to relax, craft, laugh, learn, shop Miss Tracey's Boutique, and share stories about all aspects of life as the diverse humans that we are.

This program embodies what we mean when we say TRANSforming healthcare. Too often, 2-Spirit, trans, gender diverse, and intersex people are pushed to the margins, denied care, or made invisible within traditional systems. ConneQT with QTs flips that narrative while placing our care, joy, and belonging at the center. As Chastity Bowick reminds us, "you cannot erase that which is permanent and we are unerasable."
At GHC, we believe no one should be left behind and everyone should have access to healthcare. Through programs like this, we continue to support health, wellness, and thriving life for all of our kin.
✨ Here’s to the first year of ConneQT with QTs and to many more years of building spaces where our community can heal, connect, and flourish.
